Culled from more than five thousand submissions each year, 80-90 short films (both U.S. and international) are selected to play before features or in one of eight Shorts Programs. Films accepted into this category will compete for Jury Awards, but the eligibility requirements are not as strict
The following Festival programs are non-competition categories, and the
eligibility requirements are not as strict -- as with features. Short films may have screened at any number of other festivals or on the Internet. As of this year, short films submitted for consideration are also still eligible if they have been broadcasted on television or released on DVD before the Festival.

On Main" Festival venue, which houses artist installations, live performances,
panels, and experimental film screenings.

archive devoted to the preservation of the history of independent film. Each year, we select two films from this archive (usually newly preserved or restored works) for special screenings at the Festival.
