First Annual California Next Gen Film Festival
Opening Night highlights include the VIP reception, featuring an art exhibit by Arte Clandestino, a keynote introduction by Mayor Heather Fargo,
a celebrity panel that includes guests Adam Del Rio (The Pursuit of Happyness) and Rudy Youngblood (Apocalypto). Screenings will be of 3 short films including kids + money directed by Lauren Greenfield.
Aug. 29 highlights include a wine and cheese reception; screenings of narrative and documentary shorts, Q&A sessions with filmmakers including Lynn Breedlove of Tribe 8; and labor leaders from South Central Farm; an informative panel with guest Will Bigham the winner of Steven Spielberg's and Mark Burnett's "On the Lot" reality TV show.
Aug. 30 highlights include a film fair for filmmakers with notable companies and schools such as VMI Video, Silverado Systems, Advantage Presentation Reversa Screens, Berkeley Digital Film School and JVC. Saturday's festivities will also include a meet and greet with Current TV producers; narrative, digital animation, and HD short films followed by Q&A sessions with filmmakers; and an HD panel featuring a tour of the Red One Camera.
Aug. 31 highlights include an afternoon tapas reception; animation, documentary, narrative, and HD shorts; and an awards ceremony to recognize and applaud our California Next Gen Film Festival filmmakers.
