Las Vegas' premiere film event - is currently accepting film, video and screenplay entries for the approaching 2009 festival.


The 2009 Las Vegas International Film Festival will take place February 7th - February 14th in the heart of the entertainment capital of the world.

Upcoming Deadlines and Fees

Deadline - October 31st - Short: $30 / Feature: $40

Late Deadline - November 30th - Short: $35 / Feature: $45

Extended Deadline - December 31st - Short: $40 / Feature: $50

Student Discount - Subtract $10 from fee (Include photocopy of student ID)

Las Vegas SignDedicated to showcasing and promoting the finest quality films and screenplays that the entertainment world has to offer, our mission is to bridge the gap between independent film audiences and filmmakers, as well as to connect emerging filmmakers with established industry professionals. The festival offers a variety of film screenings, special Las Vegas premieres, celebrity tributes, interactive panel discussions, special guests, a screenplay competition, parties and events, as well as a closing awards ceremony.

 

     Awards and Cash Prizes

Las Vegas Prize

Last year's festival saw over $4,000 in cash prizes given away to the winning filmmakers and screenwriters.  Juried and audience awards are given in several categories to celebrate achievements in filmmaking, screenwriting and acting including cash prizes for the Grand Jury Award, presented to the best feature film in competition, the Jury Prize awarded to the best short film in the festival, and the top three finalists in the screenplay competition.

Las Vegas Beyond the Call"Beyond the Call," last year's Grand Jury Prize Winner has since gone on to enjoy remarkable success, winning an amazing 35 film festival awards!


The winner of Best Children's Film, "Once Upon a Christmas Village" received a national theatrical release in the months following its screening at LVIFF.


Las Vegas Christmas Village"Freedom Fuels," Best Documentary Winner, takes an in-depth look at renewable fuel sources, such as bio-diesel, ethanol and vegetable oil. The film continues to open minds about this important issue to enthusiastic audiences at film festivals around the nation.
