Six debut and second features nominated for KINEMA competition
At the 22nd Braunschweig International Film Festival (November 4-9, 2008) the French-German Youth Award KINEMA will be awarded for the second time.Six debut and second feature films participate: three long feature films in French and three films in German language.
A jury of five young adults from France and Germany will choose the winner who will be announced on November 9th at the closing ceremony in the Braunschweig State Theatre.
The films in competition are:
- “Tausend Ozeane” (1000 Oceans) by Luki Frieden (CH/Lux 2008, 90 min, German premiere), starring Max Riemelt, Thierry van Werveke, Nicole Max
- “Vom Atmen unter Wasser” by Winfried Oelsner (D 2008, 95 min),
starring Andrea Sawatzki, Adrian Topol, Thorsten Merten
- “Little Paris” by Miriam Dehne (D 2007, 100 min),
starring Sylta Fee Wegmann, Patrick Pinheiro, Inga Busch
- “Eldorado” by Bouli Lanners (B 2008, 80 min),
starring Philippe Nahon, Bouli Lanners, Baptiste Isaia
- “Les grandes personnes” (The Grown-Ups) by Anne Novion (F/S 2008,
84 min), starring Jean-Pierre Darroussin, Anaïs Demoustiers, Judith Henry
- “La vie d'artiste“ (The artist's life) by Marc Fitoussi (F 2007, 107 Min, German premiere),
starring Sandrine Kiberlain, Emilie Dequenne, Denis Podalydès
The director of the winning film will receive a 35mm-print of his film with subtitles in French or German language for use at festivals or for theatrical release in cinemas in the neighbouring country.
The KINEMA-award is supported by the French-German Youth Council, the Region Haute-Normandie, Pôle Image Haute-Normandie, the Friedrich-Walz-Foundation Braunschweig, Académie de Rouen, the Land Niedersachsen and Francophonic TV-broadcasterTV5MONDE.
