Filmography
SORRY CHARLIE - Won First Place Narrative at the 13th annual Scottsdale Community College Film Festival - 1993

TODD HART TRIBUTE - A music video Directed and edited by Evan Hayenga.
A present and tribute to our good friend Todd Hart who has made his living his entire life playing his own music. Not considered to be anything close to good in my own opinion but it made him happy and he loved it.

THE PROPHECY - Starring Christopher Walken and Virginia Madson. Directed by Gregory Widen.
I was offered an internship by the SCC department Head of film studies Ed Everroad. They were already in production and were shooting just east of Phoenix in Superior Arizona. Worked as assistant camera operator, best boy and production assistant. 1994

TOMBSTONE - Again the head of SCC's Film department offered me a short internship working just Northeast of Tucson. Worked with set designer, lighting crew, assistant camera, and production assistant. Got to hang out with Kurt Russell between shots and listen to him complain about his phony mustache. A real class act.
I only worked on that production for three days but we became good friends anyway. As fate would have it, he lives six months out of the year in Jackson Hole Wyoming. He's my brothers next door neighbor. He remembers me and has invited me up to visit him and his wife Goldie any time during the summer. 1993

THE TIME TIL NINE - A screenplay I wrote and sold to Last chance productions for a meager sum of money. Never heard anything of it or the production company as well. Tried googling them up but found nothing. I'm assuming they went under a few years ago. I just hope it wasn't because of my screenplay. 2004

Currently woking on
Currently working on a new short film. I've given up the digital stuff and have gone back to film. "Love or a Mad Man" is my self proclaimed masterpiece. It has been 17 years since making my first film and I have used that period of time to continue educating myself, learning and growing in my natural place on the set and where I am at my best creatively. Directing and Editing. I found an actor that I hadn't seen in years and we are both putting our best into this piece of work. Hope to get some heads turning and people talking about this one. I wanted to enter it in the Phoenix Film Festival so that explains why I'm here.

I love the art of editing and have developed my own form of entertaining the viewer while having complete contron over their every thought and reaction. I call it "audience manipulation" and I'm a master at it. I am one who feels I can never stop learning or I will stop improving. I love criticism and must have it to keep me thinking. If you ask me what my best film is I;ll tell you,...My next one.

I hope to meet a lot of fellow filmmakers and I am always here to help anyone in anyway that I can. Some perceive me as arrogant and boastful at first but I'm really neither one. I'm very proud of my work and studies in film and wouldn't trade these last 17 years for anything in the world. Film is a lifetime commitment for myself and I plan on being around a long, long time. So, I'm grateful in becoming a new member of this creative group of talented people and will close by saying hello. I AM EVAN.
Peace!
